| Selling to us | Do you buy Records/CDs/DVDs?
Yes, we do buy all of the above, in fact most of our stock is bought directly over the counter from the general public.
Selling to us is very simple:
Please come into the shop with your goods and we will make you a cash or exchange offer on the items we can use.
Please bring some ID with you such as Driving Licence, Passport, Bank Statement, Utilities Bill, Council Tax Statement, Rent Book etc. We can not buy from you without some form of ID.
We will generally pay you between 40-50% of our estimated selling price.
We do have a reductions system in place in the shop, so items sometimes sell for much less than we initially price them for.
We offer a much better deal in exchange. For example, a £10 cash offer would be worth £15 in exchange. Many of our CDs and DVDs get reduced to just £1 so you may find your credit goes a long way.
About the condition of your items:
It is important that the items you bring in are at least in Very Good condition. This applies to both the disc and the artwork/sleeve. Ask yourself whether you would be happy to buy the item you are wishing to sell.
We always need good Indie/Alternative and Rock titles, plus Dance, Techno, Jazz & Soul. You are always welcome to bring collections into the shop on Oldham Street in Central Manchester, though it's often better to phone first. Large collections can be bought, and we can even do home visits for the very largest collections.
CDs/DVDs - As a general rule new/recent releases are much more saleable than older releases. This is particularly true of chart/pop CDs and mainstream DVD releases which often are heavily discounted a few months after release. If you wish to sell these sort of titles, it's much better to try sooner rather than later!
