Luv'n'Haight re-issue of this rarer than rare Jazz album, which has been the holy grail for Jazz collectors for more than a quarter of a century. Black Renaissance was the project of Harry Whitaker (Roy Ayers Ubiquity producer etc) and this LP was originally recorded as a tribute to Martin Luther King in 1976, but was only ever released in Japan, and even those copies were bootlegs. It comprises two epic free flowing, Funky Cosmic Soul-Jazz tracks that are out of this world. It's one of Gilles Peterson's favourite Jazz LPs ever recorded.
