Four album boxset which is perhaps the definitive re-issue, that has all of Jimmie Lunceford's recordings for both Vocalion & Okeh Records, including two titles from 1933 and all of his 1939-1940 performances (which were cut between two long periods with Decca). The only two personnel changes that took place during 1939-1940 were important ones as trumpeters Snooky Young and Gerald Wilson joined Lunceford while arranger/trumpeter Sy Oliver (who was largely responsible for the big band's musical identity) left to join Tommy Dorsey. Highpoints of his stay with Vocalion include 'Tain't What You Do', 'What Is This Thing Called Swing', 'Ain't She Sweet', 'White Heat','Well, All Right Then', 'Belgium Stomp', 'Wham', 'Uptown Blues', 'Lunceford Special', and 'What's Your Story, Morning Glory?'.
