Japanese Synchro System's original "Check It, Spread It" is a strange jazz-techno Tokyo rap thing . Carl Craig's remix borrows a few elements from the original and ploughs its own path of impossibly heavy, deathly slow tech-house. You might think that the drums are pretty impressive right from the beginning, but then the 'real' beats kick in about a quarter of the way through, followed by a tinny, Kerri Chandler style cowbell and there's no turning back. Halfway in the weird synths occur and its mind warp time.
