{"product_id":"bird-in-the-belly-coventry-fair-ep","title":"BIRD IN THE BELLY - Coventry Fair EP","description":"Bird in the Belly released 'Coventry Fair EP'. A limited edition double A side 7\". The record will be available exclusively through the band's bandcamp, at gigs, and The Pod Cafe (Part of the Food Union) in Coventry. It is limited to 300 copies. This is the first release since their 3rd studio album 'After the City' which was released to critical acclaim February 2022. The lyrics for these songs are taken from the John Whittingham diaries, and arranged by Bird in the Belly. The diaries detail notable horticulturalist John Whittingham's work at Charter House between 1745-91 whilst under ownership of the Inge family. Whittingham describes the weather, his choice of plants, records of how things grew under certain condition, notable local events, and the coming and going of his employees and others from the food growing community. The diaries are held at the Herbert Art Gallery Archives in Coventry. The songs create an interesting contrast - as they depict, at times, an image of pastoral England - gardens, fairs and harvest - but set within the City Centre of Coventry. The songs portray the community, but also isolation, of historic food growing communities.","brand":"BIRD IN THE BELLY","offers":[{"title":"NM \/ NM \/ GFM \/ GFM0015","offer_id":57566628446581,"sku":"418377","price":5.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0223\/4339\/files\/image_2233603.jpg?v=1789126683","url":"https:\/\/www.vinylexchange.co.uk\/products\/bird-in-the-belly-coventry-fair-ep","provider":"Vinyl Exchange","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
