Palo Alto is a previously unknown and unreleased live Thelonious Monk recording. In 1968 following the assassination of Martin Luther King, a student from a largely white college town in California somehow persuaded Monk to perform to help bring about racial unity in his community as well as raise funds for his school’s International Committee.
