Southern Italy's Giovanni Damico makes storytelling house music with the sort of charm and character that denied the early Chicago sound. He's as good as an honorary Windy City citizen by now in fact, so it's fitting he lands on the wonderful Star Creature. 'The Payback' brings more disco energy to the fore but keeps it deep, with shooting synths and withering pads, funky bass riffs and squelchy bass. 'Riding Into The Storm' is a more raw jam but is still laden with hooks and melodies. 'Loud & Clear' is jaunty and off-kilter in its seduction and 'LAx5' and 'Like A Boss' shit down with funky undercarriages.
