(2543) 'Mirage On The Red Land', released as part of the loosely narratological SWOB series, is a six-track swash of electro without lease, courtesy of long-running Roman producer Marco Passarani, who made a splash on Generator Records and Peacefrog before building a regular releasing cradle over various labels. The new EP combines the experience-rooted experiments of his early Nature Records output with a sharp, innater sixth sense for the floor, while 'Alone In The Dark Cave' pulse with classic TR-808 weight under liquid synthscapes, and 'Clouded Shores' and 'Dominion' escalate into territorial clashes on imagined planets. After Stefan Wust's crackers for the label earlier this year, Passarani's is a headsy follow-up indeed.
