(2541) Vienna producers Snd & Rtn have spent the past decade building an as-yet uncreased catalogue of dub techno favouring precision, patience and soma-stroking tone, equally informed by Basic Channel minimalism as it is the icy atmospheres of Scandinavian techno. 'Jawa Dubs' finds them return to Copenhagen's Kontakt Records with two new tracks pitched deep into the echo chamber, 'Jawa Dub' and 'Soul 440' dealing in Tatooine sonic ecospecies and Stuttgart-pitched myope moods respectively. Stephen Hitchell, long a dub techno pillar in far-off US backlands, lends his weight on the flip with two remixes, both under his cv313 and Intrusion aliases.
