Initially comprising Maynard James Keenan (Tool) Josh Freese (The Vandals, Devo) Paz Lenchantin (Pixies) Paz Lenchantin (Pixies) and Tool guitar tech Billy Howerdel (who founded the band as well as producing and mixing the debut album), the group released three acclaimed albums in the early noughties ties before disbanding and later reforming. Described as less dark and more melodic than Tool, the band's sound reflects their personnel connections to the metal giants, as well as the influence of eighties indie and metal alike.
