Frank Sinatra performed "Tenderly" during various radio broadcasts and live performances in the 1940s and 1950s, notably on programs like To Be Perfectly Frank, rather than recording a standard studio version for a primary LP during his peak Columbia or Capitol years. Meteor Records is pleased to be able to bring you this fantastic rare recording by the one and only Frank Sinatra. In the late 1940's Frank made a number of appearances on the radio version of "Your Hit Parade." He performed many songs which were never recorded in studio sessions, and even in the case of those that he had recorded, the radio broadcast performances were dramatically different in execution. Tapes of these broadcasts were not known to exist until quite recently, and we have managed to acquire them for release. We are proud to be able to make available at last, the rarest of all Frank's great performances. As an extra bonus, please take note of the delightful duet he performs with the legendary Ethel Merman on Cole Porter's classic "You're The Top." These recordings were made prior to the existence of high fidelity recording equipment, however we have used up to date technology to improve the sound to bring it closer to today's audio standards.
