(2246) John Beltran, the Detroit producer who does everything from ambient to majestic, soulful techno, teams up with Sam McQueen again as Indio. He dropped a super EP 'Detroit Dancer' earlier in the year and follows up on Emotions Electric with something that shows he remains in fine fettle. 'Antero' is a real jazzy dancer, with light, nimble drums and airy synths shimmering over analogue percussion and punchy drums. Convextion flips it into a heavier, more club-ready cut and then ERP - an alter ego of Convextion no less - ups the intensity but keeps the hi-tek soul vibes alive. Very classy techno.
