On 'Wicked Grin', Grammy and multiple US Music Blues Award winner John Hammond was accompanied by a small band of musicians who had all worked with Tom Waits before. Hammond always viewed 'Wicked Grin' as a high point of his career. But if the album is a milestone in his recording career, then it is certainly just as true that the concerts in which he performed almost exclusively 'Wicked Grin' live were among the most remarkable of his glorious six decades as a traveling bluesman .
