Released in Oct. '95, "Ask Me Tomorrow" could've easily been the fourth Slowdive LP, sounding like an acoustic deconstruction of the group’s early recordings, still dreamlike and ethereal but recontextualized by discernible lyrics and a country-folk aesthetic. Channelling the sorrowful songwriting of Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake as well as contemporaries like Mazzy Star and Tindersticks, it's become a fan and critic favourite.
