'Maria' is the highly anticipated debut album from London-based Brazilian electric bassist and composer Moyses Dos Santos. Released via Far Out Recordings on June 12, 2026, the album is a vibrant homecoming that reconnects Dos Santos with his Northeastern Brazilian roots while channeling the cosmopolitan energy of London’s contemporary Jazz scene. After relocating to the U.K. in the early 2000s, Dos Santos quietly became one of London’s most sought-after session musicians, playing alongside heavyweights like Nile Rodgers, Janelle Monáe, Gregory Porter, and Omar. Inspired by a 2022 tour with Brazilian Jazz-Funk legends Azymuth, Dos Santos created Maria named affectionately after his mother to fuse the musical vocabularies of his youth (Samba, Frevo, Maracatu, and Baiao) with Jazz, Soul, Funk, and Disco.
