The thrust of OG late ‘80s Belgian new beat, acid and early ‘90s techno lives on in san Soda aka Nick Berlin’s split with Max Erotic, aka Red D incognito
Both Lowlands natives and cognisant of new beat’s influential impetus, Berlin & Erotic make a strong pairing on throwbacks to the sounds of the AB and Boccaccio. Nick Berlin opts for the hard beat end of things with a high % ABV new beat ace ‘Donnez-Moi De L’Aciiieed!’ packing proper, cold bass drum knocks and nagging acid lines, resolving to a sweeter chorus and back to the jack.
Red D’s turn as Max Erotic ‘Ballare With You (Too)’ features RedLipZ on a saucier call to mange tout and shot your Lambo keys in the pot, frothing over with new beat acid suds and maybe some mayo at the corner of the mouth.
