Bay Area vibraphonist/composer P.E. Hewitt was in his teens when he first started recording albums, releasing a 50 copy run of his private press debut as a bandleader, 1968’s Jawbones, at the tender age of 16. By the time he was 20, Hewitt and his ensemble had three full-lengths of deep spiritual jazz under their belts, all of which exist as some of the most sought-after records in the history of crate digging. And who else would own the entire set of this high-priced trilogy than Stones Throw impresario and world renowned LP collector Egon, who released this gorgeous box set containing faithful CD reproductions of Jawbones, 1969’s Since Washington and 1970’s Winter Winds".
