Formed in 2020, Tommy Paslaski, Ben Paulson and Akeem Asani have evolved their sound as Purelink from dub techno and '90s drum 'n bass to vaporous jazz and post-rock elements. Their second album embraces fluidity by mixing live instrumentation and vocals with their signature ambient and rhythmic experimentation. It also reflects a period of upheaval as they moved from Chicago to New York City and went on to incorporate acoustic and electric elements alongside contributions from Loraine James and poet Angelina Nonaj. Tracks like 'First Iota' and 'Kite Scene' explore evolving, atmospheric soundscapes and the album culminates in the rather more euphoric 'Circle of Dust'.
