(19/08) Disco Halal's latest release pairs boss man Moscoman with Ukranian producer The Organism - last seen releasing on Dushe in 2014 - for a four-track trip into Middle Eastern cosmic disco/electronic house fusion. The whole EP is as heady and intoxicating as you'd expect it to be, with title track "Rite" - all druggy, hypnotic synth-bass, delay-laden tribal percussion hits, gravelly scat vocals and mind-altering electronics - brilliantly setting the tone. The accompanying Disco Halal remix re-casts it as an off-kilter chunk of Turkish electrofunk/cosmic disco fusion, while flipside opener "Chumbai" is a suitably psychedelic and trippy slab of exotic nu-disco. Closer "Rubab", meanwhile, is jackin' Arabic house with added Middle Eastern rave stabs.
