(17/40) Ombra International returns with another helping of post punk and synth wave inspired tracks, this time featuring artists from Lithuania, Berlin, Mexico and Madrid. Mexico's Veneno start the dance with the kohl-ed up death disco of "Atencion Especial", a gloomy groover boasting psyche guitars, gothy bass and an angular disco 4/4 - probably one for Red Axes' Beach Goths. We speed from Mexico City to Madrid on the A2 via the pulsating, primal ooze of "Not That Way" by Teniente Castillo. Featuring the talents of Skelesys, this feedback drenched chugger is destined for deployment on a particularly spangled ALFOS dancefloor. Berlin representitive Perel takes off from the B1 with the acid assault of "Hildegard", a caustic combination of snapping drum machines and rasping acid lines - one for the darkroom I reckon... Last up, Lithuania's Roe Deers drop another of their uniquely twisted post-punk dancers, dissembling chimes, children's toys, car horns and fairground rides over a clattering ghost train rhythm and mucky post punk bassline.
