(26/13) One of the hottest tracks on Star Creature in recent times. "Jack Shit" came out earlier in the year and garnered support from everyone including Moodymann, Luke Solomon and Mark Grusane, with its early Windy City proto-house vibes that recalled the glory days of Trax or DJ International. The 7" sold out record quick and has become a highly sought after nugget, so Star Creature have reissued the track (extended, no less, for the 12" format) and added three more joints from the producer's catalogue.
"The Breeze Of Your Shirt" showcases the deep house side of the producer nicely (much like "Hot Sweaty Nights", the B-side of the original 7" did), with a nice array of musical elements and semi-organic instrumentation bolstered nicely through some gentle distortion, subtle flurries of acid and other DSP artefacts.
"Smacking Your Head" returns to the primitive proto-house vibe; just a straight up drum machine rhythm, synth bassline and basic vocal sample trigger. "DX Days" keeps the same work ethic but utilizes the magic of, I presume, the DX7 to conjure up its synth patches
