Keith Rowe's 'Living My Life' 10" is as a striking testament to the legendary Lee "Scratch" Perry-era dub ambition. The two dubplate-style mixes carry the famous patina of mid-70s Black Ark sessions, with Perry's influence deeply embedded in the echo, hiss and spectral space inherent in the rhythms. Rowe, who is known as half of Keith & Tex, brings a resonant vocal shadow that drifts through the murk, grounded by sparse but weighty low end. It's a dense, heady sound with a superbly soulful and controlled vocal up top. Mix Two fleshes things out with more studio mixing desk trickery.
