U.S. remix don Joe Claussell has always been good at finding the corners of music other people missed, and here he turns to Adelhard Roidinger, an Austrian double bassist who worked with Anthony Braxton, Karl Berger and George Russell and released electro-acoustic oddities on the great ECM. Claussell reworks 'Kontrabad' from the 1984 album Computer & Jazz Project I and adds drum fills around Peter Groning's percussion while giving Roidinger's bass room to roam over rolling synth arpeggios. The 12" also carries the original cut 'Kreisform,' which was built from Juno 106 and SH-101 and helps explain what Claussell was chasing. A fine introduction to a neglected figure.
