'Maps' by underground Hip-Hop artist Billy Woods and producer Kenny Segal is widely acclaimed as one of the standout rap albums of recent years. Originally released in 2023 via Backwoodz Studioz as a follow-up to their masterpiece Hiding Places, the album serves as a conceptual, jazzy, and surrealist journey born from the grueling experience of post-lockdown touring. Featuring guests Quelle Chris, Aaron Carmack, ShrapKnel, Danny Brown, Benjamin Booker, Elucid, Shabaka Hutchings, Jason Wool, Samuel T. Herring (Future Islands), Aaron Shaw, Joanne, Mike Parvizi, Elucid & Ryan Crosby. Entirely produced by Kenny Segal, featuring warm, deeply textured jazz-inflected instrumentals, atmospheric beats, and resonant basslines.
